Kai's Voice — Nature Poem

Seeing hummingbirds
and bricks smothered with ants
down all the way to my front door.
Everyday and everything is nature
and nature is peace
and peace is understanding.

Isabella's Voice — What I Love About Nature

I love seeing the sun shine through the trees.
I love hearing all the little birds talking to each other.
I love walking in the forest with my fellow N.B.O.G.ians.
I love swimming in the freezing rivers.
I love climbing a tall tree and looking down at the forest below.
I love running in the soft brush of the forest floor.
I love watching a little squirrel scampering up the side of a tree.
i love NATURE.

p.s. N.B.O.G. = Nature Based Ongoing Group - the class i go to every Friday.
N.B.O.G.ians = the awesome people who do it, too.

Kai's Voice — Why I Care About Nature

"I like nature because it is nice.  I like to hear the birds and see the nice back country plants and coyotes and foxes.  I like to climb rocks and make stone tools.  I like sleeping in a tent.  When I am in nature I feel happy and free. My body feels good."

Kids' Voices – Why I Care About Nature

I am starting a Kids' Voices series on this blog, and I want to start with several posts containing children’s thoughts on the topic Why I Care About Nature.  If there is a child in your life that would like to share his or her thoughts, I would love to receive them.  It doesn't have to be long—even a couple sentences would be fantastic.  There are no wrong answers, and over the next several months, I hope to share the voices of kids from all over the place, kids with a wide variety of world views.  I would love to hear from the kids in your life!  If possible please include a photo of the child in an outdoor setting, along with a first name, city and age (I promise not to post last names, addresses or other such personal information).  You can send me this information at mudonyourfeet@gmail.com.

As you know, this blog is a relatively new project.  I want to grow it into something meaningful over the next several years, so I am very open to any suggestions or constructive criticism you might have.

Thank you!
